What Malcolm Bendall is building, and what Bob Greenyer is mapping it to

The 90-second version

Malcolm Bendall has spent about ten years building a metal box called the Thunderstorm Generator. It’s a small physical device — three nested stainless-steel spheres, a UV lamp in a water bubbler, two pipes carrying gas in opposite directions — that bolts onto a normal car or generator engine. The exhaust comes out clean, the engine reportedly runs better, and over time the inside of the box develops persistent material changes that look like the device is processing something at a level beneath ordinary chemistry.

Around this hardware, Bendall has built a much larger framework — the Plasmoid Unification Model (PUM) — that connects: - the device’s geometry and operation - a system of “fundamental” numbers (144,000 / 25,920 / 518,400 …) that he says describe energy, time, matter, and dimensional projection - a periodic-table reading that links each chemical element’s melting point to a frequency - ancient buildings and traditions (the Pyramid, Solomon’s Temple, the Hindu Shiva Lingam, Vedic geometry) that he says encode the same physics

Bob Greenyer, an independent investigator with the Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project, has examined the hardware in person and presented his own theory of what’s happening inside it: he calls it an ambient-air realization of Ken Shoulders’ Electrum Validum (EV) — bunched-electron clusters that the cold-fusion / LENR research community has been studying since the 1970s. Greenyer’s framing connects Bendall’s device directly to fifty years of established LENR research without requiring Bendall’s broader cosmology.

Jordan Collin (Alchemical Science) is a third figure in the corpus — an “open source researcher” who presents the systematic academic case for PUM. His Cosmic Summit V3 deck (51 slides) maps Bendall’s number system onto Vedic time scales, ancient calendars, traditional weights & measures, Tesla-coil harmonics, the Platonic solids’ angle sums, and the 1939 Tibetan acoustic-levitation account. Where Bendall asserts the cosmology and Greenyer translates the device, Collin builds the comparative-tradition case.

The key thing to understand: there are several layers stacked on top of each other. Reading them as one undifferentiated thing is the mistake most observers make.

The system has four layers

Layer 1 — The hardware

A buildable physical apparatus with published parts list (~$700 in materials):

• 3 nested stainless-steel spheres (2”, 3”, 4” diameter), TIG-welded
• 2 stainless-steel tubes (1.125” and 0.625”) forming the gas path
• A glass bubbler chamber filled with distilled water
• A 254 nm germicidal UV lamp inside the bubbler
• An iris-style adjustable exit aperture (the “Vajra” — UK patent P76426GB, 2024)

The device runs as a closed loop: the host engine’s exhaust flows through it and re-enters the engine’s intake. New air enters through the carburettor.

Layer 2 — The mechanism

What Bendall says is happening inside:

1. Hot exhaust enters one tube and spirals anti-clockwise toward the inner spheres.
2. Cold ambient air enters the opposite tube and spirals clockwise.
3. The two spinning gas streams shear against each other and partly separate by charge — protons one way, electrons the other (the Hilsch / Ranque vortex tube effect, established physics from 1933).
4. UV light photolyses water molecules in the bubbler, releasing free electrons, hydroxyl radicals, and protons. Argon already present in air gets ionised.
5. Inside the innermost sphere — the “Solomon’s Molten Sea Lense” — a stable toroidal plasmoid forms: a self-sustaining cluster of net protons or net electrons in a magnetic-confinement geometry.
6. The plasmoid acts as a battery: it accumulates charge, then discharges back into the engine intake, contributing to the next combustion cycle.

What Greenyer says is happening:

1–3 above (Hilsch tube + UV photolysis) — same. 4. The combination of free protons + bunched electrons + paramagnetic oxygen + nano-cluster self-organisation produces something Ken Shoulders documented in vacuum-chamber experiments from the 1970s onward: Electrum Validum (EV) clusters — bunched-electron entities at energies up to 100 keV that exhibit anomalous behavior including transmutation in nearby material. 5. The 8-year-old TSG that MFMP examined shows persistent yellow surface features on the inner sphere with element-ratio shifts on SEM/EDS analysis — consistent with EV-induced low-energy nuclear reactions. 6. The TSG, in this reading, is the first practical air-breathing EV reactor — what Shoulders’ devices required vacuum chambers and spark-source generators to produce.

These two readings are compatible. Greenyer’s translates Bendall’s “plasmoid” into the existing terminology of the LENR research community, where it has 50 years of literature and well-defined experimental tests.

Layer 3 — The cosmology

This is where Bendall takes the system from device-engineering into a much broader claim. He proposes that everything in the universe — galaxies, planets, atoms, music, time, space — operates on a small set of “fundamental” numbers:

These numbers are connected by dimension fractions: n × 10/9 for n = 1..9. So 5.555… = 50/9 is the “5-dimensional” projector, 6.666… = 20/3 is the “6-dimensional” projector, and so on. Dividing AETHER by these fractions produces every other named number in the system.

The system is internally consistent. We verified every arithmetic identity Bendall states using exact rational numbers (no float drift). The “GREAT YEAR” number genuinely is 144,000 ÷ 50/9 = 25,920. Each chemical element’s “value” in the model is (digit_product of |melting point|)² and the values come out as he says.

Bendall maps these numbers onto: - Geometry: 16 sectors of 22.5° (a torus base layout), 32 planes × 64 radial points (full plasmoid lattice) - Music: a tuning where C = 800/3 Hz (≈ 266.67 Hz), close to but distinct from 12-TET A=440 or 432 Hz tunings - Periodic table: each element has a “frequency cascade” derived from a 3-4-5 right triangle scaled to the element’s melting point - Sacred geometry: 16-fold Seed of Life (vs. classical 6-fold), Vesica Piscis with 5:3 aspect ratio (vs. classical √3:1), Pyramid of Cheops 51.84° slope, etc.

The cosmology is the connective tissue that joins the device to the broader claims about ancient knowledge and universal physics.

Layer 4 — The applications

Bendall has spelled out specific applications across the lecture series and patent corpus:

Each application takes the same underlying mechanism (TG-style plasmoid generation) and scales it to a different domain. The Planetary Power Plant is the TG at industrial scale; the Space Drive is the TG operated in vacuum; the Chimney Retrofit drops a TG into existing factory flues. The system is fractal — same pattern, different size.

How the parts connect

The cosmology constrains the geometry. The geometry shapes the device. The device produces the plasmoid. The plasmoid is the active element across all the applications.

Greenyer enters this picture from a different angle:

Greenyer doesn’t engage with Layer 3 (the cosmology). He works at Layers 1, 2, and 4 — hardware, mechanism, applications — and re-describes them in terms an LENR physicist would recognise.

The wider network — third-party replicators and corroborating voices

The picture surfaced by Jordan Collin’s Alchemical Science channel (125 transcripts mined, ~700k words; see notes/19_alchemical_science_integration.md and notes/19b_alchemical_science_integration_part2.md for the full two-pass extraction, plus notes/19c_promethium_flag.md for an audit cross-check on one residue-element claim) shows the work is no longer just a Bendall + Greenyer pair. There is now an active multi-continent network. The most load-bearing additions for a reader trying to map the territory:

Dr. Robert Haralick — distinguished professor emeritus, CUNY (PhD program in computer science), 650+ publications. Frames the TSG transmutation in published stellar-nucleosynthesis language: an alpha ladder (C → O → Ne → Mg → Si → S → Ar via successive helium captures) that is the same mechanism textbooks attribute to red giants. The anomaly, in Haralick’s framing, is location (stainless spheres at hundreds of °C) — not mechanism. He identifies the missing decisive experiment: a 24-hour mass-spec on the exhaust looking for He, Ne, Ar — none of which is in the fuel or in air at relevant levels. He grounds the mechanism in Giuliano Preparata’s 1995 QED Coherence in Matter: counter-rotating water-coherence-domain tori as the geometric origin of the device’s seven-layer counter-rotating gas pattern.

George Lush — career heat-treater, NADCAP-rated UK aerospace vacuum-furnace operator (Lush Heat Treatment, founded 1952). Brings lab discipline to the device’s annealing protocol. Confirms the two-stage anneal (hemispheres before welding, full unit again after); reports the pock-mark self-healing phenomenon on thin-wall spheres (plasmoid exit pits that subsequently fill in — never seen before in metallurgical practice); reports an imploded-inward (not burst-outward) failure mode on a ~3 mm stainless pipe; reports stainless-steel thermocouples welding themselves to the spheres during instrumented runs (“Heisenberg-type measurement-disturbs-system”). Wall thickness ≥ 3 mm is the practical minimum; 1.6 mm cracks at ~6 hours.

Walt Jenkins — independent prior art (held now by Ed Grimm, Vyran Inc., Clearwater FL; ex-NASA shuttle SRB hydraulic-tube fabrication). Jenkins derived an implosion-based water-fuel technology by watching Florida thunderstorms — exactly the same observed phenomenology that inspired Bendall. This is a genuinely independent line of convergence onto the same insight. Grimm holds Walt’s full design (the patent was partial); Bendall’s reaction to learning of the Jenkins parallel is reported as “almost electric goosebumps.”

Independent replicator clusters — at least the following are running working units: - Australia: Dave (Energy with Dave) + Ben (Bennonator) — joint A/B demo on identical Genmax 4 kVA units, 20.5% O₂ / 0% CO / 0.35% CO₂; Saxon Van Bentley + Gary Ryan (Northern Rivers, NSW, demoed at Byron Bay, Lismore Masonic Temple, Sydney Skeptics demo, Self-Reliance Festival, Primex agricultural show); Paul Holland, Martin Juriger, Michael Acres (Acres Industries, Melbourne). - USA: Sam + Eli (Chevy 3.9 L bypass); Phil (Cosmic Summit parking lot, two years running); Lanson Jones + Kieran Swords (Texas state-capitol presentation pipeline, Rice University + Texas A&M validation route). - UK: David Evans (plasmoid-power kit-set retrofits). - India: Rockpecker (Chandigarh, father-and-son operation; setting up the most advanced automated welding facility in northern India — center-of-excellence for global rollout). - Ireland: Andrew Lynch / Irish Manufacturing Research Centre — non-profit prototyping bridge between inventors and Indian mass-production.

Sheela Rahman (frequency scientist, formerly with EM-coil manufacturers) has built a falsifiable validation pipeline for the cosmology layer: take any line of the PUM, generate sine tones at the line’s 32 equal-tempered Hz values, render in XY-mode oscilloscope. Coherent PUM lines produce stable closed-form geometries; introducing a single out-of-line frequency produces visible chaos. This is a low-cost test the existing protocols document does not yet describe.

Randall Carlson sits adjacent. Carlson independently derived the same number set (2160 / 1080 / 25,920 / 1296 / 43,200 / 86,400) from sacred-geometry + processional-cycle work, ties it to the Younger Dryas extinction (~12,960 BP = half-precessional), and connects it to Yuga cycles, the Sumerian king-list, and the Mayan calendar. Bendall first contacted Carlson because a clip on Brad Young’s GeoCosmicRex YouTube channel quoted Carlson using the exact 2160 number Bendall had been working with privately.

The picture this composes: the technical claim is being articulated in formal stellar-nucleosynthesis + QED-coherence language by an academic (Haralick); the manufacturing discipline is being added by a NADCAP heat-treater (Lush); independent prior art exists from a third inventor working from the same observed phenomenon (Jenkins via Grimm); kit-set replications are running on three continents; and the cosmology layer has a reproducible falsifiable test (Rahman’s oscilloscope method). None of this resolves whether the system is fully correct — but it changes what a reader should expect to find when looking.

What this implies

If the system works as described — at any of the levels — the implications differ by which level you take seriously.

If only Layer 1+2 work (the device cleans engines)

Industrial post-combustion treatment becomes radically cheaper. The TG is a $700 retrofit that allegedly outperforms a $2,000 catalytic converter. Diesel generators, ship engines, small power systems in regions without emissions regulation — all become candidates. Even without any novel physics, this is a useful technology.

If Greenyer’s interpretation also works (ambient-air EV physics)

This would be the first practical access to EV/LENR phenomena outside expensive laboratory vacuum chambers. It would open a research path for: - Compact LENR-style energy systems - New transmutation chemistries (turning trace elements into others, slowly) - New approaches to nuclear waste handling (EV-induced isotope shifts have been suggested as remediation) - A scientific reset on cold-fusion’s 35-year stalemate

If Bendall’s full cosmology also works (the universe runs on 11.111)

This would be a complete reframing of physics. The fundamental constants would derive from the PUM seed numbers rather than from current quantum-electrodynamic calculations. The connection to ancient buildings and traditions would suggest these patterns were known and exploited at scales we don’t currently understand. Astronomy, chemistry, biology, music, architecture — all reorganized around the dimension-fraction lattice.

The three levels are nested. You can take 1+2 without 3+4. You can take 1+2+ Greenyer without Bendall’s cosmology. You can take all four. They are separable.

Engaging with the system

The corpus is open. The hardware is buildable. The numerical framework is computable (we encoded it in pum_core — 58 named symbols, exact rationals, all identities verifiable).

A reader can engage at whatever level interests them:

• Build the device — parts list is public, $700 BOM, standard machine-shop skills
• Run instrumented tests — 5-gas analyser + dynamometer + thermocouples are not exotic
• Examine the inner sphere materials — university SEM/EDS labs do this routinely
• Compute the cosmology — pum_core lets you take any of the 58 PUM symbols and derive any other
• Hear the tuning — pum_tuning/ produces .scl scales loadable in any soft-synth
• Read Greenyer’s full hypothesis — the 5,527-word transcript is in mfmp/transcripts/

What’s clear, after working through the corpus:

The system is larger and more coherent than it first appears. It is a single integrated framework — hardware, mechanism, cosmology, applications, ancient-knowledge claim — not a collection of disjoint ideas. Bendall has built it carefully over a decade. Greenyer has been mapping it to existing LENR research over months.

Whether the framework as a whole turns out to be a major scientific contribution, a partial truth wrapped in symbolic packaging, or something else entirely — that’s not something a reader needs to settle before engaging with it. The interesting move is to understand what’s being claimed, see which parts connect to what’s already known, and build the parts that are buildable.

The reader who comes away with that — the system mapped, the testable parts identified, a way to engage with the corpus on their own terms — has the most useful posture toward this work.
